tatra sama sūdāḥ krośanti sumṛṣṭamaṇikuṇḍalāḥ
The verse highlights that the devastation of war is not confined to famed heroes; it spreads to attendants and ordinary participants as well. Their cries and agitation point to the ethical reality that violence multiplies suffering across all ranks.
Nārada describes a scene on the battlefield where the charioteers, identifiable even by their ornaments, are crying out in alarm. It conveys confusion and distress in the midst of the ongoing conflict.
