अधर्मभयभीतास्मि ततो5हं तप आस्थिता | भीतायास्तु महाभाग प्रयच्छाभयमव्यय,“महाभाग! मैं अधर्मके भयसे बहुत डरती हूँ, इसीलिये तपस्यामें लगी हुई हूँ। अविनाशी परमेश्वर! मुझ भयभीत अबलाको अभय-दान दीजिये
adharmabhayabhītāsmi tato'haṃ tapa āsthitā | bhītāyāstu mahābhāga prayacchābhayam avyaya ||
«إنني أرتعد خوفًا من الأدهارما، ولذلك احتميتُ بالتقشّف. أيها الجليل، أيها الربّ الذي لا يفنى—امنحني الأمانَ من الخوف، أنا المرتاعة.»
नारद उवाच
Fear of slipping into adharma can become a moral catalyst: one turns to tapas (disciplined spiritual practice) and seeks abhaya (fearlessness) from the imperishable divine source, implying that ethical steadiness is supported by inner discipline and divine refuge.
The speaker (introduced as Nārada) voices a plea: being frightened by the prospect of adharma, the speaker has undertaken austerities and now petitions the addressed ‘mahābhāga’—identified by the epithet ‘avyaya’—to grant lasting fearlessness and protection.
