Even in war, power must be restrained by dharma: killing a lone, helpless boy by the combined force of multiple elite warriors is condemned as adharma, highlighting that victory without righteousness is morally tainted.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a single boy has been killed while defenseless by six Kaurava great warriors led by Droṇa and Karṇa, and he explicitly judges the act as not in accordance with dharma.
