तद्‌ युद्धमभवद्‌ घोरं वृद्धयो: सहसेनयो: । यथा महायूथपयोर्दििपयो: सम्प्रभिन्नयो:

Transliteration

tad yuddham abhavad ghoraṁ vṛddhayoḥ saha-senayoḥ | yathā mahā-yūthapayoḥ dvipayoḥ samprabhinnayoḥ ||

Translation

قال سنجيا: ثم اندلعت معركةٌ مروِّعة بين هذين القائدين الشيخين مع جيوشهما—كاصطدام سيِّدي فيلةٍ عظيمين، زعيمي قطيعين جليلين، وقد استبدّ بهما الجنون من سَورة الهياج. ويُصوِّر المشهد كيف أنّ المحاربين المجرَّبين إذا التقوا في غضبٍ صار الصراع طاغيًا على من حولهم، يجرفُ الجموعَ كلَّها إلى زخمٍ عنيفٍ تولّده مبارزتهما الخاصة.
