वृकस्तु परमक्रुद्धो द्रोणं षष्ट्या स्तनान्तरे । विव्याध बलवान राज॑स्तदद्भुतभिवाभवत्,नरेश्वर! बलवान् वृकने अत्यन्त कुपित होकर द्रोणाचार्यकी छातीमें साठ बाण मारे। वह अद्भुत-सी बात थी
vṛkastu paramakruddho droṇaṃ ṣaṣṭyā stanāntare | vivyādha balavān rājan tad adbhutam ivābhavat ||
قال سنجيا: ثم إنَّ فْرِكا، وقد اشتعل غضبُه غايةَ الاشتعال، طعن درونا في صدره بقوةٍ بستين سهمًا، أيها الملك. فبدت كأنها أعجوبة—صنيعة مدهشة في خضمِّ هياج المعركة.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how overwhelming anger can drive extraordinary martial action; it also underscores the epic’s attention to prowess and consequence in war, where even revered teachers like Droṇa become targets in the relentless logic of battle.
Sañjaya reports to the king that Vṛka (Bhīma), in intense fury, shoots Droṇa with sixty arrows in the chest, and the feat is described as astonishing to behold.
