Even in war, dharmic restraint—symbolized by dismounting and laying down weapons—can avert catastrophic violence; some forces yield not to counter-force but to humility and compliance with higher law.
After the Nārāyaṇāstra is unleashed, the warriors withdraw, get down from their chariots, and place their weapons on the ground; seeing this non-resistance, the divine missile becomes pacified and ceases its destructive action.
