iti śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvaṇi nārāyaṇāstramokṣaparvaṇi dhṛṣṭadyumna-sātyaki-krodhe aṣṭanavatyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ

Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the line does not teach through direct instruction, but it frames the episode’s moral horizon: in war, wrath (krodha) and the unleashing of extraordinary force (divine weapons like the Nārāyaṇāstra) intensify harm and test dharma, implying the need for restraint and discernment even amid conflict.

This is the closing formula for a chapter in Droṇa Parva, within the episode about the discharge of the Nārāyaṇa weapon, specifying that the chapter’s theme concerns the anger of Dhṛṣṭadyumna and Sātyaki and marking the end of that chapter unit.
