Bhīmasena and Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s Speeches on Kṣātra-Dharma
तमापततन्तं संरब्धं शैनेयस्य रथं प्रति । घटोत्कचो<ब्रवीद् राजन नादं मुक्त्वा महारथ:,क्रोधमें भरे हुए अश्वत्थामाको सात्यकिके रथपर आक्रमण करते देख महारथी घटोत्कचने सिंहनाद करके कहा
tam āpatantaṁ saṁrabdhaṁ śaineyasya rathaṁ prati | ghaṭotkaco 'bravīd rājan nādaṁ muktvā mahārathaḥ ||
قال سنجيا: «أيها الملك، لما رأى غَطوتكَتشا—المحارب العظيم—أشوَتثاما وهو يندفع غاضبًا ليهاجم عربة شَينَيَة، أطلق زئيرًا كزئير الأسد ثم تكلّم».
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of confronting unchecked fury with courageous intervention: a warrior’s duty includes protecting comrades and responding decisively to escalating violence, while maintaining resolve and presence of mind.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that an enraged attacker is charging toward Sātyaki’s (Śaineya’s) chariot. Seeing this, Ghaṭotkaca gives a loud battle-cry and begins to speak, indicating he is about to challenge or restrain the attacker.
