Dawn-Transition Battle at Ajiśīrṣa
Chapter 161
The verse illustrates wartime rhetoric: leaders bolster allies by magnifying their prowess, even claiming superiority over divine opponents. Ethically, it shows how confidence and persuasion can shape decisions in battle, sometimes eclipsing sober assessment.
Duryodhana addresses his champion, praising the irresistible reach of his weapons. He asserts that even Indra and the gods could not withstand him, and therefore the Pāṇḍavas with their Pāñcāla allies are even less able to resist.
