आत्मानं रौद्रमाचष्ट रौद्रकर्मण्यधिष्ठित: । तदनन्तर पाण्डुकुमार अर्जुन अपने अस्त्रोंद्वारा विपक्षी वीरोंके अस्त्र लेकर रौद्रकर्ममें तत्पर हो अपनेको रौद्र सूचित करने लगे

sañjaya uvāca | ātmānaṃ raudram ācakṣṭa raudrakarmaṇy adhiṣṭhitaḥ | tad-anantaraṃ pāṇḍu-kumāra arjunaḥ svair astrair vipakṣa-vīrāṇām astrāṇi gṛhītvā raudra-karmaṇi tatparaḥ san ātmānaṃ raudraṃ sūcayituṃ pracakrame |

قال سنجيا: وقد ثبت أرجونا—ابن باندو—في أتون الفعل العنيف، فبدأ يُظهر نفسه مهيبًا مُرعبًا في ساحة القتال. ثم ما لبث أن استخدم أسلحته ليغتنم أسلحة أبطال الخصم أو يُبطل أثرها، وبعزمٍ على قتالٍ لا هوادة فيه جعل بأسه المخيف ظاهرًا لا يلتبس.
