Nakula–Śakuni Duel and the Night Battle; Śikhaṇḍin–Kṛpa Engagement (नकुल-शकुनियुद्धं तथा रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)

“आज जिन्होंने इस सेनाके भीतर तुम्हारा प्रवेश कराया है, वे धर्मपुत्र राजा युधिष्छिर मेरे द्वारा तुम्हारे मारे जानेका समाचार सुनकर तत्काल लज्जित हो जायाँगे ।। अद्य मे विक्रमं पार्थो विज्ञास्यति धनंजय: । त्वयि भूमौ विनिहते शयाने रुधिरोक्षिते,“आज जब तुम मारे जाकर खूनसे लथपथ हो धरतीपर सो जाओगे, उस समय कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन मेरे पराक्रमको अच्छी तरह जान लेंगे

sañjaya uvāca | adya yeṣāṃ kṛte senāyāṃ tava praveśo 'bhavat te dharmaputra-rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ mayā tava vadha-vārttāṃ śrutvā sadya eva lajjito bhaviṣyati || adya me vikramaṃ pārtho vijñāsyati dhanañjayaḥ | tvayi bhūmau vinihate śayāne rudhirokṣite ||

قال سانجايا: «إن الذي بجهده أُتيح لك أن تدخل في هذا الجيش—الملك يودهيشثيرا ابن دارما—إذا سمع مني خبر أنك قُتلت، غشيته الخزي في الحال. واليوم سيعرف أرجونا ابن بريثا—دهانانجايا—حقّ المعرفة بأسَ وبطولتي، حين تُصرَع وتضطجع على الأرض مخضّبًا بالدم.»
