भीमचापच्युतैर्बाणैस्तव सैन्यमरिंदम । अवध्यत चमूमध्ये घोरैराशीविषोपमै:,शत्रुदमन! भीमसेनके धनुषसे छूटे हुए विषधर सर्पोके समान भयंकर बाणोंद्वारा सेनाके मध्यभागमें आपके सैनिकोंका वध हो रहा था
sañjaya uvāca | bhīmacāpacyutair bāṇais tava sainyam ariṃdama | avadhyata camūmadhye ghorair āśīviṣopamaiḥ ||
قال سنجيا: يا قاهرَ الأعداء، في قلب صفِّ القتال كانت جموعُك تُحصد بسهامٍ أطلقها قوسُ بهيما—سهامٌ مروِّعة كالأفاعي السامّة—تُنبئ بزخمِ المذبحة العنيف الذي لا يلين، ذلك الذي تُطلقه الحرب حين ينكسر قيدُ الكفّ وضبطُ النفس.
