Condemnation without understanding is ethically unsound: Sanjaya redirects Dhṛtarāṣṭra from blaming warriors who are fulfilling their combat duty to hearing an accurate account of events, implying that moral evaluation should be grounded in truthful narration and context.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra has been criticizing the warriors fighting in the battle. Sanjaya responds that such censure is futile and proceeds to narrate, in sequence, how the battle actually took place.
