Droṇa’s sweeping assault and the Abhimanyu–Jayadratha close-quarters episode (द्रोणस्य भीषणव्यचरितम् / सौभद्र-जयद्रथ-संनिपातः)
ततः सर्वान् समानाय्य क्रातृनन्यांश्व सर्वशः
tataḥ sarvān samānāyya krātr̥n anyāṁś ca sarvaśaḥ | āptair āśu parijñātaṁ bhāradvāja-cikīrṣitam ||
قال سنجيا: ثم إنّ يودهيشثيرا استدعى جميع إخوته وسائر الملوك من كل جانب، وبواسطة مُخبريه الموثوقين عرف سريعًا ما كان ابن بهارادفاجا (درونا) ينويه. فلما اتضح له الأمر جمع حلفاءه ليردّ بحكمة، كي تُواجَه نذرُ درونا وحيلتُه في الحرب دون التفريط بالدارما ودون تعريض الملك الشرعي للخطر.
संजय उवाच
Even amid war, righteous leadership requires timely knowledge, consultation, and measured response. Yudhiṣṭhira’s first move is not rash retaliation but accurate understanding of the opponent’s intent through trustworthy sources, aligning strategy with dharma.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira quickly discovers Droṇa’s intended course of action through reliable informants and then summons his brothers and allied kings from all directions to coordinate a response.
