सिंहनादश्न संजज्ञे पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम् | धनुर्ज्यातलशब्दश्ष गगनस्पृक् सुभैरव:
saṁjaya uvāca | siṁhanādaś ca saṁjajñe pāṇḍavānāṁ mahātmanām | dhanurjyātalaśabdaś ca gaganaspr̥k subhairavaḥ | āptair āśu parijñātaṁ bhāradvājacikīrṣitam |
قال سانجايا: «وفجأةً ارتفع زئيرٌ كزئير الأسد من الباندافا ذوي النفوس العظيمة، ودوّى الصوت المهيب، البالغ عنان السماء، لأوتار الأقواس وهي تُشدّ وتُطلق. ومن خلال عيونٍ موثوقين عرفوا سريعًا ما كان ابن بهاردفاجا (درونا) يعتزم فعله».
