Droṇa’s Rebuke to Duryodhana after Jayadratha’s Fall
tatra devāstvabhāṣanta cāraṇāś ca samāgatāḥ | etadantāḥ samūhā vai bhaviṣyanti mahītale ||

The verse underscores the Mahābhārata theme that mass violence, once unleashed, tends toward an inevitable culmination; even divine observers describe the conflict as moving toward a destined end, reminding readers of the moral weight and karmic consequences of collective warfare.
Sañjaya reports that, at that moment in the battlefield context, the gods and the celestial Cāraṇas are present and speak aloud, foretelling that the assembled forces will reach their end on earth—an ominous proclamation of impending destruction.
