Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention

asmiṁstu kila sammarde grāhme vividham āyudham

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the nature of war as a dense, disorienting melee where many weapons are in play; ethically, it highlights how quickly conflict becomes chaotic and morally heavy, testing restraint and discernment.

Sañjaya is reporting the scene of a tightly packed battle-press, describing the crowded tumult where diverse weapons are being taken up and used amid the clash.
