The verse highlights ethical accountability: deeds gain moral weight not only by their outcome but by the spirit in which they are done—especially the presence of satkāra (respectful honor) toward one’s rightful superior. It also stresses the importance of direct evidence over mere report.
Sañjaya reports a demand/request directed to someone whose actions have been praised indirectly: others describe the person’s unseen deeds as performed with proper honor toward their lord, and the speaker asks that those deeds be demonstrated or made evident ‘here’ so they can be verified.
