भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
द्रोणस्तु समरे वीर निर्दहन्तं सुतांस्तव | यथाद्रिं वारिधाराभि: समन्ताद् व्यकिरच्छरै:
droṇas tu samare vīra nirdahantaṃ sutāṃs tava | yathādriṃ vāridhārābhiḥ samantād vyakirac charaiḥ ||
قال سنجيا: في خِضَمِّ القتال، أيها البطل، وبينما كان بهيما يُحرق أبناءك حرقًا، أمطره درونا من كل جانب بوابلٍ من السهام—كما تصبُّ سُحُبُ المطر جداولَ الماء من حول جبل. وتُبرز الصورةُ تبادُلَ الحرب القاسي الذي لا يهدأ: فالبأس العنيف يُجابَه بضربةٍ مضادّةٍ أشمل، حيث تدفع المهارةُ والواجبُ نحو المعسكرِ المرءَ إلى المضيّ قُدمًا رغم تراكم الخراب.
