अब्रवीच्च तदा राजन्‌ भीष्म कुरुपितामहम्‌

sañjaya uvāca | abravīc ca tadā rājan bhīṣmaṁ kurupitāmaham, kathayāmāsa durdharṣo viniḥśvasya punaḥ punaḥ |

قال سنجيا: «يا أيها الملك، عندئذٍ خاطب دُريودهنَة بهيشما، جدَّ الكورو. وكان ذلك الأميرُ العصيُّ على القهر يطلق زفراتٍ عميقة مرارًا، ويروي كلَّ ما جرى كما وقع—إذ لم يطق مذلّة هزيمته في تلك المعركة العظمى. وبعد أن تقدّم إلى بهيشما بخشوعٍ وانحنى له، سرد الخبر كاملًا، ثم قال للشيخ الجليل: “يا مولاي، كما أن أعدائي يقاتلون متكئين على شري كريشنا، ابنِ فاسوديفا، كذلك أنا قد خضتُ هذه الحربَ المروّعة ضد الباندافا متكئًا عليك وحدك.”»
