ततः: समभवद् युद्ध घोररूपं भयानकम् | पाण्डूनां भगदत्तेन यमराष्ट्रविवर्धनम्
tataḥ samabhavad yuddhaṃ ghorarūpaṃ bhayānakam | pāṇḍūnāṃ bhagadattena yamarāṣṭravivardhanam ||
قال سنجيا: «ثم قامت معركةٌ—فظيعةُ الهيئة، مرهوبةُ المنظر—بين الباندافا وبهاجادَتّا؛ صدامٌ يوسّع مملكة يَما، إذ يبعث بكثيرين إلى الموت. وهكذا غدت وحشية الحرب، المدفوعة بالكِبر والمنافسة، آلةَ خرابٍ لا حارسًا للبرّ والاستقامة.»
