Adhyāya 86: Irāvān’s Lineage, Cavalry Clash, and the Māyā-Duel Ending in Irāvān’s Fall
घटमानान् यथाशक्ति कुर्वाणान् कर्म दुष्करम् | न दोषेण कुरुश्रेष्ठ कौरवान् गन्तुमहसि,कुरुश्रेष्ठ! कौरव यथाशक्ति प्रयत्न करते और दुष्कर कर्म कर दिखाते हैं। अतः उनके ऊपर आपको दोषारोपण नहीं करना चाहिये
ghaṭamānān yathāśakti kurvāṇān karma duṣkaram | na doṣeṇa kuruśreṣṭha kauravān gantum arhasi, kuruśreṣṭha ||
قال سنجيا: «يا خيرَ الكورو، إن الكاورافا يبذلون جهدهم على قدر طاقتهم ويأتون بأعمالٍ عسيرة. لذلك، يا أكرمَ الكورو، لا ينبغي لك أن تمضي إلى لومهم.»
संजय उवाच
One should judge others with fairness: when people strive sincerely within their capacity and undertake difficult duties, it is improper to condemn them merely by attributing fault.
Sanjaya addresses a Kuru elder/leader, defending the Kauravas by noting their strenuous effort and difficult actions in the war context, and advising that they should not be blamed.
