भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्
Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
ततो भीष्मो महाराज सर्वलोकमहारथ:
tato bhīṣmo mahārāja sarvalokamahārathaḥ, vikarṇo daśabhir bhallai rājann vivyādha pāṇḍavam |
قال سنجيا: ثم، أيها الملك العظيم، إن بهيشما—ذلك المَهارَثي المشهور في العوالم كلها—مع فيكارنا، طعنا أرجونا ابن باندو بسهام «بهلّا» (bhalla) الحادّة. ثم إن أبطال الكورو الرئيسيين، عازمين على قهره، أصابوه مرارًا: بهيشما بسبعةٍ وسبعين سهمًا، ودرونا بخمسةٍ وعشرين، وكريبا بخمسين، ودوريودhana بأربعةٍ وستين، وشاليا بتسعة، وجايدَرَثا بتسعة، وشكوني بخمسة، وفيكارنا بعشرة سهام بهلّا.
