तस्मिन्नयुतशो राजन भूयशश्व परंतप: । भीष्म: शान्तनवो योधाञ्जघान परमास्त्रवित्
tasminn ayutaśo rājan bhūyaś ca parantapaḥ | bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo yodhān jaghāna paramāstravit ||
قال سانجيا: «في تلك المعركة، أيها الملك، كان بهيشما—ابن شانتانو، مُعذِّب الأعداء وأسمى العارفين بالأسلحة السماوية—يقتل المقاتلين مرة بعد مرة بعشرات الألوف. تُبرز الآية قوة براعته القتالية الطاغية، وتلمّح في الوقت نفسه إلى الثقل الأخلاقي الكئيب لمذبحة جماعية في حربٍ انصدع فيها الدارما.»
