Shloka 12

चिन्तयित्वा महाबाहु: पिता देवव्रतस्तव । अभ्याशस्थं महाराज पाण्डवं वाक्यमब्रवीत्‌

cintayitvā mahābāhuḥ pitā devavratas tava | abhyāśasthaṃ mahārāja pāṇḍavaṃ vākyam abravīt ||

قال سانجيا: «وبعد أن تفكّر، خاطب ديفافراتا (بهيشما) عظيم الساعد—أيها الملك، وهو كبيركم الموقَّر—ذلك الباندافي الواقف قريبًا منه. أيها الملك، إذ خطر بباله: “لعلّي لا أكون سببًا لذبحٍ لا يُحصى من خيرة الرجال في هذه المعركة”، وجّه كلامه إلى يودهيشتيرا—معلنًا تحوّلًا من مجرد الظفر الحربي إلى الكفّ والمسؤولية في قلب الحرب.»
