Daśame’hani Bhīṣma-yuddham — Śikhaṇḍī-rakṣaṇa, Arjuna-prabhāva, Duryodhana-āśraya-vākyam
iti śrīmahābhārate bhīṣmaparvaṇi bhīṣmavadhaparvaṇi bhīmaparākrame dvyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ

As a colophon, the verse does not teach a new doctrine directly; it frames the preceding narrative as a remembered record of dharma under strain—where valor (parākrama) is acknowledged, yet situated within the solemn context of righteous conduct and the grave costs of war.
This is an end-of-chapter marker: it announces that the account belongs to the Bhīṣma Parva, within the Bhīṣma-vadha section, and that the completed chapter is the 102nd, characterized by Bhīma’s feats. It signals closure of a unit and prepares the listener for the next segment.
