एवमेतदिति प्राहुस्तदभूल्लोमहर्षणम् । उनके ऐसा कहनेपर भीमसेन आदि भाइयों और द्रौपदीने एक स्वरसे कहा--'हाँ, महाराजका कहना ठीक है।” इस महान् त्यागकी बात सुनकर सबके रोंगटे खड़े हो गये

«هكذا هو الأمر»، أجابوا، فكان الموقف مما يُقشَعِرّ له البدن. ومع أنه قال ذلك، فإنّ بِهيماسينا وسائر الإخوة، ومعهم دروبدي، أجابوا بصوتٍ واحد: «نعم—إنّ ما يقوله الملك حقّ». ولمّا سمع الناس خبرَ هذا التنازل العظيم، انتصبت أشعارهم رهبةً وإجلالًا لثِقَلِ المعنى الأخلاقي في ذلك القربان.
