वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct through prompt assent to rightful instruction and the disciplined honoring (pūjā) of both sacred instruments (the Aśvamedha horse) and exemplary persons (Arjuna), showing that authority, ritual propriety, and respect for merit are to be upheld together.
After being instructed, Sahadeva’s son agrees (“tathā”) and then performs a proper ritual honoring of the Aśvamedha horse and of Arjuna (Phālguna), described as the foremost warrior in battle.
