Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
धर्मपुत्रं च भीमं च फाल्गुनं नकुलं तथा । सहदेवं च दुर्धर्ष सर्वान् नस्त्रातुमहसि
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
dharmaputraṃ ca bhīmaṃ ca phālgunaṃ nakulaṃ tathā |
sahadevaṃ ca durdharṣa sarvān nas trātum arhasi ||
قال فايشامبايانا: «يا أيها البطل الذي لا يُقهَر، ينبغي لك أن تحمينا جميعًا—يودهيشثيرا ابنَ الدَّرما، وبهيمًا، وفالغونا (أرجونا)، وناكولا وسهاديفا أيضًا. أنت أهلٌ لأن تُنقذنا من هذا الخطر.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames protection as a moral obligation: the addressed hero is ‘worthy’ and therefore duty-bound (arhasi) to rescue others in danger, especially righteous leaders like Dharmaputra. Capability is presented as responsibility.
In a moment of peril, the speaker appeals to an ‘invincible’ warrior to safeguard all the Pāṇḍava brothers—Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīma, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva—emphasizing urgent collective rescue.
