Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
mayā tu bharataśreṣṭha ciradṛṣṭaḥ pitā prabhuḥ | tam ahaṃ draṣṭum icchāmi sammate tava phālguna ||
The verse highlights reverence toward one’s father/elder and the ethical propriety of seeking a trusted person’s consent before undertaking an important journey—desire is guided by respect, consultation, and right intention.
Vāyudeva addresses Arjuna respectfully, saying he has not seen his father for a long time and wishes to meet him; he asks whether Arjuna agrees to his going to Dvārakā for that purpose.
