Janamejaya uvāca |
Vijite pāṇḍaveyais tu praśānte ca dvijottama |
Rāṣṭre kiṁ cakratuḥ vīrau vāsudeva-dhanañjayau ||
قال جَنَمِيجَيا: «يا أفضلَ ذوي الميلادين، لمّا ظفر أبناءُ باندو بالنصر واستتبّ السِّلم في أرجاء المملكة، ماذا صنع بعد ذلك البطلان—فاسوديفا (كريشنا) ودهانَنْجَيا (أرجونا)؟»
जनमेजय उवाच
The verse frames an ethical-political transition: after rightful victory, the priority becomes praśānti—stabilizing the realm and restoring order. It highlights that dharma is not only winning a war but also establishing peace and responsible governance afterward.
Janamejaya asks the narrator (addressed as dvijottama) what Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna did once the Pāṇḍavas had secured victory and the kingdom had become peaceful, setting up the next events of the Aśvamedhika Parva.
