The verse emphasizes dharmic hierarchy and gratitude: a community’s stability rests on honoring the rightful guide—one who is both guru (moral instructor) and parāyaṇa (ultimate support) for kingdom and lineage.
In Vaiśaṃpāyana’s narration, speakers express collective allegiance and dependence, declaring the addressed elder/leader as their revered authority and the sustaining refuge of both the state and the dynasty.
