Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth

वन॑ प्रविशतानेन वायुभक्षेण धीमता । अग्नय: कारयित्वेष्टिमुत्सृष्टा इति न: श्रुतम्‌,हमारे सुननेमें आया है कि वायु पीकर रहनेवाले वे बुद्धिमान्‌ नरेश जब घने वनमें प्रवेश करने लगे, उस समय उन्होंने याजकोंद्वारा इष्टि कराकर तीनों अग्नियोंको वहीं त्याग दिया

vanaṁ praviśatānena vāyubhakṣeṇa dhīmatā | agnayaḥ kārayitveṣṭim utsṛṣṭā iti naḥ śrutam |

قال نارادا: «لقد سمعنا أنه حين همّ ذلك الملك الحكيم—الذي كان يقتات بالهواء وحده—بدخول الغابة الكثيفة، أقام على يد الكهنة قربان الإشْتي (iṣṭi)، ثم ترك هناك النيران المقدسة الثلاث».
