Educational Q&A

The verse underscores a moral logic central to the epic: śīla (upright conduct) and guṇa (virtues) lead to fitting outcomes. Those described as virtuous are relieved of suffering and attain their proper, deserved state—suggesting ethical character as a basis for post-suffering restoration and rightful destiny.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Kṣatriya maidens, now free from hardship, ascend vimānas (celestial vehicles) and depart to their respective destined abodes. The scene functions as a resolution: distress ends, and each person reaches an appropriate station.
