Educational Q&A

The verse frames a dharmic ideal of disciplined practice supported by orderly household cooperation: Jamadagni’s focused training and Renukā’s repeated assistance illustrate steadiness, service, and alignment of daily action with righteous purpose.

Bhīṣma introduces an old account of a dialogue between Jamadagni and Sūrya. As the setting, Jamadagni is practising archery, and his wife repeatedly retrieves and returns the fired arrows to him.
