Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्

गण्डा बोली--जिस स्त्रीने मृणालकी चोरी की हो उसे सदा झूठ बोलनेका, भाई- बन्धुओंसे लड़ने और विरोध करने और शुल्क लेकर कन्यादान करनेका पाप लगे ।।

gaṇḍā bolī—yas strī mṛṇālaṃ corayitvā gṛhṇīyāt sā sadā mṛṣāvādasyāparādhaṃ labhate, bhrātṛ-bandhubhiḥ saha kalaha-virodhaṃ ca, śulka-grahaṇena kanyādānasya ca pāpam. sā svayaṃ sādhayitvā (pākaṃ kṛtvā) prāśnīyāt, dāsye jīryatu caiva hi; vikarmaṇā pramīyeta—bisa-stainyam karoti yā.

قالت غَنْدَا: «إن المرأة التي تسرق المṛṇāla (ساق اللوتس) تلحقها خطيئةُ اعتياد الكذب، ومخاصمة الإخوة وذوي القربى ومعارضتهم، وتزويج الفتاة لقاء مال. وستُكره على أن تطبخ ثم تأكل وحدها، وتشيخ في خدمة الناس كالأَمَة، وبسوء صنيعها تلقى موتًا مُهلكًا—تلك عاقبة سارقة ساق اللوتس.»
