Vṛṣādarbhī–Saptarṣi Dialogue
balaṃ dhṛtir vipāpmā ca puṇyakṛt pāvanas tathā | pārṣṇikṣemā samūhaś ca divyasānus tathaiva ca ||
The verse lists ethical and spiritual excellences—strength guided by fortitude, sinlessness, meritorious conduct, purifying influence, reliable protection, cohesive support, and lofty (divine) attainment—implying that true power is inseparable from virtue and communal stability.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues his didactic discourse, enumerating auspicious qualities/benefits (as part of a larger catalog) to guide righteous living and the cultivation of character.
