भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches that generous giving—specifically donating gold to worthy brāhmaṇas—functions as a dharmic act of expiation, helping a ruler cleanse moral faults and restore ethical order through charity.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma is instructing a king on dharma and the fruits of gifts. Here he directly urges the king to give abundant gold to brāhmaṇas, presenting it as a practical means to become freed from sin.
