Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)

ततो जित्वा महीं कृत्स्नां रामो राजीवलोचन:

tato jitvā mahīṁ kṛtsnāṁ rāmo rājīvalocanaḥ | mahārāja! tataḥ samastaṁ pṛthivīṁ jitvā vīraḥ kamalanayanaḥ paraśurāmaḥ brāhmaṇaiḥ kṣatriyaiś ca satkṛtaṁ sarvakāmapradaṁ cāśvamedhayajñaṁ samājahāra ||

قال بهيشما: «ثمّ، أيها الملك العظيم، إنّ راما—ذو العينين كزهرة اللوتس والبطل الشجاع—بعد أن أخضع الأرض كلّها، أقام قربان الأشفاميدها (Aśvamedha)، وهو طقس تُجِلّه طبقتا البراهمة والكشاتريا معًا، ويُعَدّ مُحقِّقًا لجميع المقاصد المرغوبة. وتُبرز الرواية أنّ السلطان السيادي، متى نيل، يُشرَّع بالطقس ويُوجَّه إلى واجب ديني مُجاز، لا إلى مجرّد الهيمنة.»
