Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
भीष्म उवाच शृणु राजन्नवहितो बहुकारणविस्तरम् । जातरूपसमुत्पत्तिमनुभूतं च यन््मया,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन्! ध्यान देकर सुनो! सुवर्णकी उत्पत्तिका कारण बहुत विस्तृत है। इस विषयमें मैंने जो अनुभव किया है, उसके अनुसार तुम्हें सब बातें बता रहा हूँ
bhīṣma uvāca: śṛṇu rājann avahito bahu-kāraṇa-vistaram | jātarūpa-samutpattim anubhūtaṃ ca yan mayā ||
قال بهيشما: «أيها الملك، أصغِ بتمام الانتباه إلى هذا البيان، فهو واسعٌ لكثرة أسبابه. سأقصّ عليك نشأة الذهب (jātarūpa) كما فهمتُها وعاينتُها، مبينًا الأمر على ترتيبه اللائق.»
