Gopradāna-Māhātmya: Inquiry into Goloka
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārate anuśāsanaparvaṇi antargate dānadharmaparvaṇi jaladānasya māhātmyaviṣayakaḥ saptasaṣṭitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ

The chapter’s framing highlights that dāna (charitable giving) is a central expression of dharma, and that offering water—basic, universally needed, and life-sustaining—is especially meritorious because it directly relieves suffering and supports life.
This line is a colophon-style conclusion marking the end of a chapter in the Anuśāsana Parva’s Dāna-dharma section. It signals that the discussion on the greatness of gifting water has been completed (traditionally within Bhīṣma’s instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira).
