भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma highlights the ethical ideal of honoring and supporting those who are genuinely disciplined—educated in sacred knowledge, faithful to vows, and living with self-restraint and non-dependence—presenting such character as a mark of worthiness in society.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues his instruction on dharma, describing qualities of exemplary persons—especially those shaped by Vedic study and vows—and indicating their moral standing and the proper regard they deserve.
