भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as prompt obedience to righteous instruction and respectful hospitality toward a sage; a king’s ethical conduct includes humility, service, and proper offering when approached by a worthy guest.
A sage tells the king, “Bring it.” The king complies and comes forward with his wife, presenting the food provisions to the sage—an act of reverence and dutiful service.
