Educational Q&A

The verse sets a dharmic narrative frame in which events on earth are mirrored or influenced by higher, celestial agencies. It suggests that moral and cosmic order (dharma) can be accompanied by signs, visitations, or interventions from divine realms, preparing the listener for an ethically significant development.

Bhishma describes a specific moment when a heavenly maiden, taking on an exceptionally beautiful form, travels through the sky—an introductory scene that typically precedes her arrival, message, or role in the unfolding account.
