Śulka, Kanyā, and Dauhitra-Riktha: Discourse on Bride-Price and Inheritance Rights (शुल्क-कन्या-दौहित्र-रिक्थविचारः)

स तेन कर्मणा स्पर्थन्‌ पृथिवीं पृथिवीपते । चचार गतभी: प्रीतो लब्धकीर्तिवरो नृप,पृथ्वीनाथ! विपुल उस तपस्याद्वारा मन-ही-मन गर्वका अनुभव करके दूसरोंसे स्पर्धा रखने लगे। नरेश्वर! उन्हें गुरुसे कीर्ति और वरदान दोनों प्राप्त हो चुके थे; अतः वे निर्भय एवं संतुष्ट होकर पृथ्वीपर विचरने लगे

sa tena karmaṇā spardhan pṛthivīṁ pṛthivīpate | cacāra gatabhīḥ prīto labdhakīrtivaro nṛpa ||

قال بهيشما: «يا ربّ الأرض، بسبب ذلك الفعل دبّ في قلبه الزهو، وبدأ ينافس الآخرين. أيها الملك، ولأنه نال من معلّمه الشهرة والنعمة معًا، أخذ يطوف في الأرض آمنًا مطمئنًا.»
