पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient

ब्राह्मणके मुखसे जो वाणी निकलती है, उसे जो शिरोधार्य करते हैं, वे सम्पूर्ण भूतोंको आत्मभावसे देखनेवाले महात्मा कभी पराभवको नहीं प्राप्त होते हैं ।।

bhīṣma uvāca | brāhmaṇake mukhase yo vāṇī nikalatī hai, use yo śirodhārya karate haiṃ, ve sampūrṇa bhūtoṃ ko ātmabhāvase dekhanevāle mahātmā kabhī parābhavako nahīṃ prāpta hote haiṃ || kṣatriyāṇāṃ pratapatāṃ tejasā ca balena ca | brāhmaṇeṣv eva śāmyanti tejāṃsi ca balāni ca ||

قال بيشما: إن الذين يضعون في قلوبهم الكلمات الخارجة من فم البراهمن—ويجلّونها كأنها جديرة بأن تُحمل على الرأس—يصيرون عظامَ النفوس، يرون جميع الكائنات برؤية الذات، ولا ينالهم انكسار. فإن توهّج الكشاتريا، بهاؤهم وقوتهم، إنما يهدأ ويُكبح عند البراهمة؛ فهناك تُسكَّن نار سلطانهم وبأسهم.
