मेरो: समुद्रस्य च सर्वयत्नै: संख्योपलानामुदकस्य वापि | शक्यं वक्तुं नेह गड़ाजलानां गुणाख्यानं परिमातुं तथैव,कदाचित्‌ सब प्रकारके यत्न करनेसे मेरु गिरिके प्रस्तरकणों और समुद्रके जलविन्दुओंकी गणना की जा सके; परंतु यहाँ गंगाजलके गुणोंका वर्णन तथा गणना करना कदापि सम्भव नहीं है

Transliteration

meroḥ samudrasya ca sarvayatnaiḥ saṅkhyopalānām udakasya vāpi | śakyaṃ vaktuṃ neha gaṅgājalānāṃ guṇākhyānaṃ parimātuṃ tathaiva ||

Translation

قال السِّدها: حتى لو بُذلت كلُّ وجوه الجهد، لربما أمكن ذكر عدد حصى جبل ميرو، بل وعدُّ قطرات ماء المحيط؛ غير أنّه هنا لا يمكن أبدًا على الحقيقة أن تُروى فضائل مياه الغانغا أو تُقاس وتُحصى.
