Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
दक्षां पृश्चिं बृहतीं विप्रकृष्टां शिवामृद्धां भागिनीं सुप्रसन्नाम् । विभावरीं सर्वभूतप्रतिष्ठां गड़्ां गता ये त्रिदिवं गतास्ते
dakṣāṃ pṛśniṃ bṛhatīṃ viprakṛṣṭāṃ śivām ṛddhāṃ bhāginīṃ suprasannām | vibhāvarīṃ sarvabhūtapratiṣṭhāṃ gaṅgāṃ gatā ye tridivaṃ gatās te ||
قال السِّدها: «غانغا ابنةُ دكشا، وأختُ پṛśni—عظيمة، سامية، مباركة، غنية بالفضل. هي راضية عن العابدين غاية الرضا، وهي ذات حظٍّ وسعادة لأنّ شِڤا يحملها على رأسه. ولإهلاك الخطيئة فهي كليلِ الفناء، وهي ملجأٌ وسندٌ لجميع الكائنات. ومن احتمى بغانغا بلغ العوالم السماوية.»
सिद्ध उवाच
Taking refuge in sacred, dharma-aligned sources of purification—here personified as Gaṅgā—destroys sin and leads to spiritual uplift, expressed as attaining heavenly realms; devotion and surrender are presented as ethically transformative.
A Siddha extols Gaṅgā with a chain of epithets: her divine lineage and relations, her auspicious and merit-filled nature, her special sanctity through Śiva’s bearing her, her power to annihilate sin, and the promised fruit that those who seek her refuge reach heaven.
