Vaiśampāyana uvāca: nirṇaye vā mahābuddhe sarvadharmavidāṃ vara | pratyakṣam āgamo veti kiṃ tayoḥ kāraṇaṃ bhavet ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: «يا عظيم العقل، يا خيرَ من عرف الدارما! إذا وجب الفصل في مسألة من مسائل الدارما، أفنَعتمد على الإدراك المباشر (pratyakṣa) أم على التقليد الموثوق/النقل المعتبر (āgama)؟ وأيُّهما يكون الأساس الحاسم لإقامة النتيجة المذهبية؟»
