अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
उपमन्युरुवाच एवं स्तुतो महादेवस्तण्डिना ब्रह्म॒वादिना । उवाच भगवान् देव उमया सहित: प्रभु:
Upamanyur uvāca: evaṁ stuto Mahādevas Taṇḍinā brahmavādinā | uvāca bhagavān deva Umayā sahitaḥ prabhuḥ ||
قال أوبامانيو: لما أثنى تَنْدي، المتكلم البراهمني، بهذه الصورة، خاطبه الربّ الجليل مهاديڤا—وهو مع أُوما—بكلامه المهيب.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the moral power of disciplined, reverent praise (stuti) offered by a learned and sincere devotee: when devotion is expressed through truthful and sacred speech, the divine responds with guidance and favor.
Upamanyu narrates that after Taṇḍi has praised Mahādeva, Śiva—seated with Umā—begins to speak to him, signaling the start of the deity’s reply to the hymn.
